Alone Time is Good for Everyone

By Kingdom Culture Parenting member Alicia Bennett It is hard to be a kid these days. Constantly on the go to the next activity. Always surrounded by people, whether it’s classmates or siblings. Someone always expecting something. Oh, wait, it’s also hard to be a mom … for the same reasons. In today’s culture, slowing down and being alone seems to be a rare occurrence. And whether you and your children are introverts or extroverts, whether they get drained or energized from being around others, we need down time. Brain science shows that memories are actually stored when…

“I Was Wrong. Please Forgive Me.”

Asking forgiveness is so vital to life as the body of Christ, and yet, I’ve met few Christians who do it.  Some pretend at it with a “Sorry, but YOU….!!!!!”  That’s not an apology. It’s an accusation. Excuse my language, but “Sorry but…”s are for sorry butts! I’ve honestly met more children who ask forgiveness than Christian adults. And leaders are often even worse at admitting to wrong. So, what holds us back from taking responsibility for the way we’ve hurt people and trying to make it right?  Pride, of course. Pride is at the heart of every…

Conquering 2023 with Christ

2022 has been a hard year for many. Were you able to go through it in Jesus’ arms? Or did you find yourself overwhelmed? As 2023 nears, I want to encourage you to dedicate it to Christ. The trials of daily life can consume us if we don’t let the Lord take over. I’ve found that, many days, the things…

The Homeschool Family Relationships Summit 2.0

Do the relationships inside your home feel stormy? Then maybe you can relate to the Ephesian church. When Paul wrote them a letter of admonishment and encouragement, he recognized things were stormy (Ephesians 4:25–31). Falsehood. Anger. Corrupting talk. Bitterness. Wrath. Clamor. Slander. And sometimes our homeschooling days can have their fill of these things, too. But the good news? God’s grace and power are MORE than enough to equip us to walk in love. We CAN walk as children of light, making the best use of the time, giving thanks, doing the will of God from the heart…

Fathers, How You Love Matters!

My dad is an amazing prayer warrior man of God. He has spent his life loving others over and beyond, even moving his family to a poverty-stricken country to share God’s love with those who hadn’t experienced it yet. I am who I am today because he showed me Jesus, and because I grew up watching him love with Christ’s love. Fathers out there reading this … What you do matters!  Lord, we ask You today for our fathers, both earthly and spiritual. Bless them abundantly, and draw them all the closer to You. God Longs for You

When my kids were babies, I was constantly exhausted, without time to even think a thought of my own. Wiping tears and bottoms all day, a sharp pain had begun in my stomach — the beginning of an ulcer. I desperately needed help. I needed GOD. So, I asked others to please help me guard one hour a day, while the kids took their nap (because at night I was too exhausted, and in the morning the kids would wake up as soon as I stepped out of bed). And I guarded it too. I didn’t do anything…

Our Children Hear What We Say

Have you ever heard your children use curse words? Or tear themselves or someone else down? Is that something you also do? I was surprised when several teens on the mission field asked me to pray with them for freedom from profanity. The curse words their missionary parents used at home often replayed in their minds and tried to come out of their mouths, even though those sweet girls never wanted to ever say something like that.  When we speak what the enemy is saying over our family and circumstances, we invite him to destroy all the more. …

The Plastic Baby

By Lauren Beck – mother of six, and a member of our Kingdom Culture Parenting community When I walked into the group home to pick up Grandma’s things I was impressed by the thought-through design and touches. It looked just like a true family home, with a large kitchen, living room with a couch and tv. There were multiple bedrooms in the home with walk-in closets and master bathrooms. You could tell the owners of the business put lots of thought into its design and decor. As I took in the surroundings, I noticed the baby doll on…

His Resurrection Power Is Real

It’s easy to think that because I can’t seem to break free from these debilitating thought processes or this habitual sin, because I keep reacting the same way over and over again, that I can’t be free. That this is just the way I am. That I’ll just have to live and die with this mess in me. In light of all Christ did for us on the cross, DYING for that sin, and rising from the grave to prove that nothing is impossible for Him, do you still really believe He can’t set you free? Just because you haven’t experienced it…

New Releases to Help Kids into Jesus’ Arms

That Someone must be Me!” That was such a fear-of-the-Lord moment, I rushed to put a Bible time together for us to do everyday. We just read through the Word, memorized…
